VanIsle 460

Souls in Motion 2020

Welcome to the first VanIsle 460km/100km, a virtual race spanning the length of Vancouver Island to benefit the Vancouver Island Crisis Line. This event was created to fill the void left by all the race cancellations due to Covid 19.

Run, Walk or Hike 460km over the two months of June and July, averaging 7.6km per day. You could even complete this race from a treadmill in your living room! If at all possible we encourage participants to use this virtual race as encouragement to get outside and explore local trails!

Feel too far? No problem, we created a shorter version which is the width of Vancouver Island, 100km over the same time period, averaging 1.6km per day.

Registration is through Race Roster. Once you register you will have a Race Roster account where you will update your progress. We also encourage you to connect with other participants by sharing your experiences or photos on our facebook page or by taging us on Instagram @vanisle460

Also stay tuned to our social media pages for ongoing updates and inspiration leading up to the Race start on June 1 and during the entire Race period (June and July).

Big thanks to the team at the San Jose State University for creating the GIS Runner Progress Map for this event! And thanks to Mineta Transportation Institute for providing grant funding for the creation of the map.
